The final is set
France meets Italy this Sunday in the final of the World Cup. En route we saw Germany be overpowered by a masterfully managed Lippi team and goals by Grosso and Del Piero. I can actually say that I really enjoyed the Italian performance. They deserved the victory.
France came to this tournament as an underperforming team and viewed as many as too old. Well those geriatrics beat the youth driven Ronaldo. You have to admit it, for a 22 year old, Cristiano is very good, a whiner, but good. Will he be back to Man U? Will he be “greeted” on the practice field by his English teammates for his theatrics? I am looking forward to that. I hope he stays, for the benefit of mine and many other Premiership fantasy teams.
Will Klinsman coach the USA? I do know Cisse will be leaving Liverpool and Real Madrid’s new president is salivating for Cesc Fabregas, Arjen Robben and Ronaldo.
How about Trinidad’s hero Shaka Hislop going to the MLS? To play for FC Dallas. Good for him, and football in the USA. Good chap, Shaka, he went to school in North America.
Back to the final: Italy and France. I hope Italy wins…
